Producer Ryan Freimann mentioned the possibility of multiple offshoots for the horror franchise after Halloween Ends' release.

Freimann confirmed that the franchise isn't necessarily over, but its focus is on its two upcoming films for now, in an interview with ComicBook.com.

"I have not thought that far ahead," Freimann told the publication. "Right now, we're in the midst of what we see as the [director] David Gordon Green's trilogy. And the story, like with the Rob Zombie films, it had these little offshoots. They had done Halloween III: Season of the Witch way back then, so it's like we're living in the moment with these successful films, and we'll see where it goes from there. I hope there is a theatrical experience. The future is still in place, but for right now, yes. It just speaks to me and Malek [Akkad]."

Freimann's words came after star Jamie Lee Curtis called Halloween's follow-up Halloween Kills a "masterpiece" that reflects today's mob mentality. Curtis shot to superstardom as Laurie Strode in the 1978 original.

Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, Halloween Kills stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak and Judy Greer. The film arrives in theaters on Oct. 15, 2021. Its follow up, Halloween Ends is currently set for a theatrical release in 2022.
