Halle Berry makes a striking entrance with a first look of her new character in John Wick: Chapter 3.

In a still released by the official John Wick Twitter account, Berry appears as Sofia walking through what we can assume to be The Continental, the New York City hotel that serves as neutral territory for assassins. Dressed stylishly in all black and two German shepherds in tow, the Academy Award winner looks ready for action as she joins the cast of the upcoming third film in the franchise.

Berry was cast last month as Sofia, leading a wave of new characters that includes Anjelica Huston as The Director of the secret cabal of assassins hunting Keanu Reeves' John Wick. Details about Berry's character are being kept under wraps, but she's not expected to be an antagonist to Reeves' contract killer.

Chapter 3 is filming in New York City, with the eagerly anticipated sequel pikcing up immediately following the events of 2017's John Wick: Chapter 2. With a $14 million open contract on his head, the titular hit man must fight his way through New York City as he attempts to flee his former allies in a secret assassin order after killing one of their own at The Continental.

Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 stars returning actors Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, and Common. They are joined by newcomers Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman, and Tiger Hu Chen. It opens May 17, 2019.
