Gwen Stacy Gets an All-New Origin Story in Spider-Man Spinoff Series

Marvel Comics is pulling back the curtain on Gwen Stacy's origin story in a new solo series. Debuting in February, Gwen Stacy #1 by writer Christos Gage and artist Todd Nauck and cover by Adam Hughes will tell a "never-before told origin of Gwen Stacy, top of her class, daughter of the Police Captain and, as her friend Harry Osborn calls her, 'The Beauty Queen of Standard High.'”

Other characters set to appear in the comic include Gwen's father, Captain Stacy, Spider-Man, Harry and Norman Osborn, Crimemaster, Wilson Fisk, Jean DeWolff and Yuri Wantanabe.

The Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 currently stars in Ghost-Spider, with this version of Gwen Stacy gaining spider-powers instead of Peter Parker. The series features Gwen traveling to Earth-616 to gain an education at Empire State University, where Peter is a faculty member.

  • Gwen and Peter may not have met until AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #31, but that doesn’t mean Gwen’s life began on that page. Learn the never-before told origin of Gwen Stacy, top of her class, daughter of the Police Captain and, as her friend Harry Osborn calls her, “The Beauty Queen of Standard High.” But she’s way more that you even know! Gwen’s got a science brain, a nose for trouble and a no-quit attitude that always gets her in trouble. In the early Marvel Universe, that’s a recipe for disaster. Don’t miss Gwen, Captain Stacy, Harry and Norman Osborn, Crimemaster, Wilson Fisk, Jean DeWolff, Yuri Wantanabe and even Spider-Man!
