Right Stuf has announced a brand new Blu-ray release of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, which will feature a brand new HD transfer and will be bundled with all three episodes of the rarely seen OVA series, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer. The re-release of the popular 2004 anime was announced during Right Stuf's panel at this year's Crunchyroll Expo. Destiny is a direct sequel to 2002's Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and like its predecessor, it was one of the most popular mecha anime series of the early '00s. Right Stuf's re-release will be sold in a deluxe "Ultra Edition" package that features all 50 episodes of the series, available in both the original standard definition broadcast cut as well as with the new HD transfer, the special 51st episode of the series, as well as the four compilation movies. The package will also include a 120-page art book that features character designs, production art work and commentary from series director Mitsuo Fukuda.RELATED: Internet Drags BBC For Mistaking a Gundam For a Transformer

Most importantly of all for Gundam completionists, the box set will include all the rarely seen Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer OVA, which was previously only broadcast on the online Bandai Channel and on a now out-of-print DVD. Stargazer tells the story of the titular Stargazer Gundam, a unique mobile suit designed to aid in deep space exploration and development. After an attempt to steal the Stargazer goes awry, engineer Selene McGriff and the emotionally detached soldier Sven Cal Bayang are forced to work together and use the Stargazer to survive. The rare OVA is split up into three 15-minute episodes, all of which will be included in the Destiny boxset.

Right Stuf's Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Collector's Ultra Edition Blu-ray set will be released this November and is available exclusively through the company's online store for $224.99 USD.
