'Guardians of the Galaxy's' Djimon Hounsou Moves to 'Wayward Pines'

Two-time Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou has been cast as a series regular in the second season of Fox's "Wayward Pines," the summer psychological thriller from M. Night Shyamalan.

He joins Jason Patric, who was previously announced as the star of the new season.

Known for roles in such films as "Amistad," "Blood Diamond" and "Guardians of the Galaxy," Hounsou will play CJ Mitchum, an original resident of the town and a historian with extensive knowledge of its complex origins -- and the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited.

Based on Blake Crouch’s bestselling novels, the 10-episode second season will pick up in the wake of the shocking events of the first season, as the residents of Wayward Pines battle against the rule of the First Generation.
