Peter Quill/Star-Lord makes his feelings for Gamora known in the first official clip for Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.Shared on Twitter, the clip finds Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) telling Gamora (Zoe Saldana) -- the variant introduced in Avengers: Endgame (2019) -- how much he has missed her and that he wishes to form a connection with her that's as strong as the one he had with the original Gamora. Unfortunately for Peter, Gamora dismisses the notion while also incorrectly calling him "Quinn." This leads to Mantis, Drax and Nebula informing Quill that he has been professing his feelings to Gamora through the open channel instead of the private one. The rest of the scene is more comedic, featuring Drax and Mantis arguing over which colored buttons on their spacesuits open which private communication channels.RELATED: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Promo Gives Drax Couch Struggles

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 clip also features the titular members in their color-coded space suits, which fans first caught a glimpse of in the first trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe threequel. At the time, many fans mistook the colorful space suits to be a reference to the popular video game Among Us. However, writer/director James Gunn quickly debunked this, revealing that the space suits are actually a reference to Stanley Kubrick's 1968 sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey. Gunn even shared a photo of the red, yellow and blue space suits from 2001: A Space Odyssey to prevent further fans from making the Among Us comparison.

The Guardians Are Primed for Box Office Glory

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently tracking to be the second MCU movie of 2023 to open to over $100 million domestically. Following Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's $106.1 million opening, box office analysts are predicting that Vol. 3 could earn up to $130 million in its opening weekend in theaters. While that number is below the opening of 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($146.5 million), it is ahead of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, which opened to $94.3 million stateside.
