Nearly two months after fans received a sneak peek, Marvel Studios has premiered the teaser trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Clocking in at a little more than two minutes, the footage has pretty much everything you could ask for: action, an enormous tentacled creature, an angry Baby Groot wearing what looks like a miniature version of Star-Lord's costume, a laughing Drax the Destroyer, and the first official appearance of Pom Klementieff as Mantis, who's apparently not very good at keeping secrets.

Oh, and we get to hear Vin Diesel's Baby Groot voice.

Set mere months after the events of director James Gunn's 2014 hit, the sequel follows the Guardians as they try to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true father. Spoiler: It's Ego the Living Planet (played by Kurt Russell), whom Marvel Studios obtained in a character-rights swap with Fox's "Deadpool."

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Opening May 5, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan.
