"Guardians of the Galaxy" is one of the biggest surprise hits in the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it's safe to say that both the anticipation and the bar are pretty high for the 2017 sequel. A teaser trailer was finally released to ravenous fans a little while back, and although the film is largely being kept under wraps, actress Karen Gillan revealed via Twitter that a few additional tweaks are on the agenda before the movie finally heads our way.

Guardians of the Galaxy reshoots today! So excited to be back with the gang! #easiestreshootsever #causethemovieisalreadyinsanelygood— Karen Gillan (@karengillan) November 14, 2016

Gillan -- who played Nebula in the first outing and is returning for Vol. 2 -- shot out a brief message on Twitter confirming a handful of reshoots are underway. Before audiences could get nervous about the reasons for additional filming, she added the hashtags #easiestreshootsever and #causethemovieisalreadyinsanelygood. So cool your jets, folks, because it's probably just to make sure the sequel is extra kickass -- like sprinkles on an already amazing ice cream sundae. You don't need 'em, but you're glad they're there, anyway.

Reshoots are nothing new in the world of Hollywood, and the MCU is no exception. A little while back, it was revealed that Dan Harmon ("Community") supplied some additional retooling for the latest Marvel entry, "Doctor Strange."

Audiences will finally get to see what the latest reshoots added when "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" (also starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell) opens on May 5, 2017.
