Guardians of the Galaxy, The Wolverine, Arrow: August 3rd Comic Reel

"Guardians of the Galaxy" looks like it's getting a rewrite. Marvel Studios has tapped screenwriter Chris McCoy to rewrite a well-regarded draft by Nicole Pearlman of the 2014 film. Although McCoy has not yet been credited on a feature release, three of his scripts have appeared on Black List, the annual index of the top unproduced screenplays.

"Arrow" producer Marc Guggenheim spoke with IGN about the show and discussed, among other things, whether Batman could make an appearance in Starling City.

"Oh, my hope is that we can use him at some point," Guggenheim told IGN. "I think that plagued the 'Smallville' showrunners more than it plagues us because, obviously, the Dark Knight Trilogy is over. They're not available to us yet. My hope is that they'll be available to us at some point. That would be awesome. No question, that would be absolutely awesome. But I don't know. That's above my pay grade."

Additionally, io9 uncovered some recent "Arrow" casting information that actress Emily Bett Rickards has been cast in the recurring role of Felicity Smoak -- a character who was originally in the supporting cast of DC's "Fury of Firestorm." Smoak dated, and later married, Ed Raymond, who was Ronnie Raymond's father.

Premieres this fall on the CW

IGN spoke with Alexis Denisof about his role as Thanos' right-hand man in the post-credits scene in "The Avengers" and whether he'll appear again.

"Obviously, it was amazing to be a part of that -- and that's about all I can say," Denisof told IGN. "I know that there are some very cool conversations happening about where that team of superheroes is going to go and who they're going to be dealing with and places that they go. Now you know my character's a villain, so, yeah I'm as excited as everybody else."

Deadline reports actress Jennifer Ehle is currently in negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming "Robocop" reboot. Ehle, a two-time Tony award winner, would be portraying Liz Kline and join a star-studded cast including Jackie Earle Haley, Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Abbie Cornish and Samuel L. Jackson.

"Total Recall" opens today and actress Kate Beckinsale, who plays Douglas Quaid's wife Lori in the film, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about her role as a villain.

"I don't think she has any idea she's a bad guy," Beckinsale told THR. "I think she thinks she's a good guy like all the best villains. And she's got that slightly insane quality of not being able to see, necessarily, the big picture."
