Guardians of the Galaxy Telltale Series Trailer Pits Team Against Thanos

Telltale Games has released the first trailer for the first episode in the “Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series” video game, and it puts the Guardians on a collision course with the Mad Titan Thanos.

The trailer for “Episode One: Tangled Up in Blue” begins with Star-Lord negotiating with a Nova Corps member. In exchange for helping the space cops catch Thanos, the Guardians want their records wiped clean. From there we’re taken to a Kree planet where Gamora declares, “So this is how I die.”

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series’ delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands. From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.

Announced in December, the game will feature the kind of episodic storytelling that Telltate is famed for in such titles as “The Walking Dead,” “The Wolf Among Us,” “Game of Thrones” and “Batman.”

The first episode of the five-part first season, called “Tangled Up in Blue,” will be available April 18 for digital download on iOS, Android, PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Physical copies go on sale May 2.
