Despite the character's comical name, a recently released concept piece from Marvel Studios artist Jerad S. Marantz showed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's Taserface looking quite intimidating.

Compared to his onscreen counterpart, Marantz 's early take on Taserface showed the character with no hair and some sort of weaponized arm. "Here’s any early rough concept for Taserface," Marantz said of the art, which was posted on Instagram. "This is just me blocking in the painting, before realizing they weren’t going in this direction."

Played by Chris Sullivan, Taserface made his debut in 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as a member of Yondu's Ravager crew. The character would eventually die in an explosion caused by Yondu and Rocket Raccoon. Taserface was based on an actual character from the comics who first appeared in the 1990's Guardians of the Galaxy #1 and was created by Aaron Valentino.

A third Guardians of the Galaxy film by writer/director James Gunn is planned to begin filming sometime in 2021, after Gunn finishes work of the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, The Suicide Squad. Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 currently has no release date. The film is expected to begin production in February 2021.
