It looks like the "Guardians of the Galaxy" soundtrack could "Go All The Way" to February's Grammy Awards. The '70s hits-focused "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" received a nomination for "Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Visual Media," as announced on Friday, putting the album in contention with "American Hustle," "Frozen," "Get On Up: The James Brown Story" and "The Wolf Of Wall Street."

Fans took to the soundtrack -- which in the storyline of the film is the mixed tape given to young Peter Quill by his mother, and serves as his tether to his home planet -- quickly following its release in late July. "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August, and the album has been released on both vinyl and (as it appears in the movie) cassette. In September, the album was certified gold with more than 500,000 copies sold.

The 57th annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on Feb. 8, 2015 (and if "Guardians" doesn't win, don't despair -- ooh child, things are gonna get easier).
