Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is among the nominees for the 2015 Writers Guild Award for adapted Ssreenplay, announced this morning by the Writers Guild of America.

The screenplay is credited to James Gunn and Nicole Perlman, "based on the Marvel comic by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning."

Other nominees in the category are: American Sniper, by Jason Hall, based on the book by Chris Kyle with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice; Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn, based on her novel; The Imitation Game, by Graham Moore, based on the book Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges; and Wild, by Nick Hornby, based on the book Cheryl Strayed.

The Writers Guild also announced nominees for original screenplay and documentary screenplay, as well as television and radio categories. You can see the full list on the Writers Guild website.

The winners will be announced Feb. 14 in ceremonies held simultaneously in Los Angeles and New York City.
