In both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the comics, the Guardians of the Galaxy's spaceship has had some meaningful names.

It started in James Gunn's 2014 film, which revealed Peter Quill's starship was named the Milano, after his 1980s crush Alyssa Milano. The name would eventually make the jump to comics as the moniker of the Guardians' ship. Then, after the ship's destruction in the MCU, the cosmic team's next ship would get a new name: The Benatar, after '80s musical icon Pat Benatar.

Now, in Guardians of the Galaxy #7, Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians have gotten yet a new vessel to call home: the Starship Bowie, named after music and cultural icon David Bowie. The name was revealed by the issue's writer, Donny Cates.

On Twitter, Cates quoted an article commemorating the 50th anniversary of David Bowie's hit song "Space Oddity" and wrote: "And to celebrate, we named the new ship in Guardians after him!"
