In the preview for this week's release of Guardians of the Galaxy #6, Marvel has revealed that Hercules is now dating his fellow Guardian of the Galaxy, Marvel Boy (Noh-Varr)! While both of the heroes have had notable hints that they are bisexual, this is the first major in-continuity instance of each hero actually dating another guy.

During the aforementioned Incredible Hercules series, Hercules was apparently killed at one point, leading to a one-shot in 2010 called Hercules: Fall of an Avenger. In it, his past lovers came together to talk about the hero and it was hinted that Northstar, Marvel's most famous gay superhero of the time, once had a thing with the Olympian. Later, Greg Pak wrote X-Treme X-Men, an ongoing series about a group of heroes from alternate realities and in one of the alternate realities, Hercules and Wolverine were a couple.

Noh-Varr, meanwhile, briefly dated his Young Avenger teammate, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop). Later, he was on the West Coast Avengers with Kate and her then-current boyfriend, Fuse (Johnny Watts). By the end of that series, Johnny and Noh-Varr appeared to be developing a thing for each other, leading to Kate exclaiming, "Have I ever dated anyone straight?"

Noh-Varr joined the Guardians of the Galaxy early in the current series and after the team rescued Hercules in their opening story arc, Hercules joined the team, as well. In that story, Peter Quill, Star-Lord, was seemingly killed and so Gamora broke off and formed her own Guardians of the Galaxy team. The two teams came together, but instead of the traditional "superhero teams fighting each other," the two teams fought alongside each other, as related by Nova (Richard Rider) to his therapist in #6.

During the fighting, Hercules and Noh-Varr kissed and Nova noted that they are a thing (for now, at least. Neither hero has good experience in holding on to a long term relationship).

The Guardians of the Galaxy already have another same-sex couple on the team in Moondragon and Phylla-Vell.
