Created by Andy Lanning, Dan Abnett and Wellinton Alves, Cosmo first appeared in 2008's Nova #8. Initially a Soviet Space Program test animal, Cosmo was hit by cosmic rays, which gave him psionic powers. Later, he became the Chief of Security for Knowhere, which is the head of a decapitated Celestial that serves as a space station. The Guardians have had a number of significant interactions with Cosmo, as the modern team was originally based out of Knowhere.

Developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy sees players taking on the role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord as he leads Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Drax the Destroyer in an attempt to make some easy money shortly after the end of a galactic war. However, things take a turn for the worse when they set off a chain of events that threatens peace in the universe. This mistake will set the Guardians against a number of powerful foes, including the Universal Church of Truth.

Gameplay consists of using Star-Lord to take down enemies while directing the rest of the team in combat. In addition, Star-Lord can use a "Team Huddle" to motivate his team with music. In practical terms, the "Team Huddle" allows Star-Lord to boost the abilities of his compatriots. The game will also, at various points, allow Star-Lord to make decisions that affect both his relationships with the Guardians and how some missions end.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy releases on Oct. 26 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
