"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's" Chris Pratt really loves playing Star-Lord, and it seems he wants to continue doing so for a long time to come. In fact, judging from comments he made to Slashfilm, Marvel might have a harder time getting him out of their movies.

"I’ll tell you, as much as I love Marvel, it doesn’t matter how many [films] I have contracted, because I’m going to continue to work with them," the actor said.

When asked directly if he would be willing to extend his contract, Pratt was even more emphatic, saying, "Totally, dude. I want to -- I love working with them. I’m going to continue to work with them whether they like it or not. Even if they write me out, I’m going to show up on set and be like, ‘Hey, man!’ They’re done. They don’t get to shake me."

Even as Pratt talks about his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the release date for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” looms ever closer. The sequel film, which hits theaters this May, brings back fan-favorite characters like Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot and adds a few new members to the team, including Mantis and Nebula. Together, this motley crew will encounter Star-Lord’s father Ego the Living Planet and then have to save the galaxy — again.

Opening May 5, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Baby Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Glenn Close as Irani Rael and Kurt Russell as Ego.
