To celebrate Chris Pratt turning 42 years old, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn shared a video of Star-Lord turning a crane fly into his next bizarre meal."Happy birthday to my lifelong pal [Chris Pratt]. Here's a video of a time he came over to my house and ate a bug for no reason," Gunn tweeted. In the video, Pratt can be seen holding up the insect by its wings, saying, "People call these crane flies. They call them mosquito-eaters. I call them lunch," before popping it in his mouth. The camera then zooms in on Pratt's teeth to show that he is actually chewing the bug before finally swallowing.RELATED: James Gunn Has Begun Storyboarding Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Pratt, who debuted as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, has since collaborated with Gunn on the film's 2017 sequel and its upcoming third installment Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as well as other Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances. He will reprise his role as Star-Lord for both the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special for Disney+, which is penned by Gunn.

Outside of the MCU, Pratt's latest movie is Amazon Prime Video's The Tomorrow War, which stars Pratt as a school teacher/former soldier whose world is upended when soldiers from a future conflict between humanity and an alien species travel back in time to recruit present-day civilians. While he won't be playing Quill for a while, Square Enix recently unveiled the first trailer and gameplay segments for a Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy video game at its 2021 E3 press conference, with Star-Lord serving as the game's default playable character.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Elizabeth Debicki. The film arrives in theaters May 5, 2023.
