Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy can now see what it would look like if Chris Pratt played Star-Lord in the upcoming video game adaptation.

Content creator stryder HD, who's known for creating convincing deepfakes and fan trailers, released a video that sees Chris Pratt deep faked onto the video game version of Star-Lord. The upcoming Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game, developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix, features a version of Star-Lord that seemingly serves as a blend between the characters' comic book roots and Marvel Cinematic Universe portrayal.

While the character wears clothes similar to Pratt's iteration, his face, hair and voice are completely different. Stryder HD's deepfake fixes one of those differences by swapping out the video game Star-Lord's face with Pratt's. The result is... strange, but surprisingly effective nonetheless. Pratt's face sometimes looks a little too old for the body it's been strapped to and the different voice is initially offputting but after a while, it begins to feel more natural.

Pratt's face looks at home when standing alongside his fellow Guardians, even if the rest of the team look closer to their comic book counterparts. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy features a Star-Lord that appears younger than the version most movie-goers will have encountered. Both versions still seem to sport the same dry sense of humor and gripes with leading a ragtag team of outlaws.

Guardians of the Galaxy was announced during Square Enix's E3 2021 showcase. The game places players in the role of Star-Lord as he commands his teammates in combat and makes decisions that will impact the overall narrative.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game appears to be melding elements of both the comic books and the MCU films, including generous use of licensed '80s music. This isn't the first time the Guardians of the Galaxy have been adapted into a video game; the ill-fated development studio Telltale Games developed an episodic adventure game based on the starfaring heroes in 2017.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy launches on Oct. 26 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
