Gotta collect'em all! Except instead of these "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" collectibles fitting nicely in a 3-ring binder, you'll have to come up with a lot of wall space and some big frames. Following a tease of three yesterday, the highly-anticipated Marvel sequel has unveiled their entire line of trading card-inspired character posters. The lineup includes all five original Guardians (Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Baby Groot) as well as the three new recruits (Nebula, Yondu and Mantis) and the new friends/foes Ayesha and Ego.
The posters, revealed on the Guardians of the Galaxy Facebook page, take a stylish and different approach to the traditional superhero character poster. With their thick, colorful borders and the inclusion of each character's name in a big, bold font, these posters really look a lot like classic trading cards. Considering the film's retro soundtrack and style, the decision to make the posters look like lost entries in the original "Star Wars" trading card set makes total sense.
Written and directed by James Gunn, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2″ stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and franchise newcomer, Kurt Russell, who plays Star-Lord’s father – Ego, the Living Planet. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” arrives in theaters May 5.
