The Guardians of the Galaxy are one of Marvel's most iconic teams. They travel throughout space taking odd jobs and saving the galaxy when it's required (which it is, like, a lot). They're a ragtag group: a misplaced human, a daughter of Thanos, a not-raccoon, a socially-inept warrior, and a giant tree, among others.

Many people connected with these characters, especially after they were realized in film. Some people even connected strongly enough to get them tattooed on their bodies. We sorted through the hundred of Baby Groot tattoos to find the best Guardians tattoos out there.

10 Rocket Raccoon

Rocket isn't quite a raccoon. But he's not really anything else either. He's a cybernetically augmented animal. Or, to put it another way, he's a victim of experimental torture.

This experience imbued Rocket with righteous anger as well as a secret compassion for others like him. He's a big softie inside very, very thick walls. He's one of a kind, alone in the universe. How lonely must that be? This awesome tattoo gives a bit of insight into how lonely Rocket may feel.

9 Awesome Mix

In the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Peter Quill is attached to his walkman and its contents, a tape titled "Awesome Mix Volume 1." The music on it makes up the soundtrack for the film. The same goes for the second movie, with the tape being aptly marked as "Volume 2."

These tapes contain some of the most fun, upbeat music from the late 20th century. They also became a symbol for the Guardians themselves. This tattoo likely brings happy memories to the mind of its bearer.

8 Silhouettes

In this gorgeous tattoo, the silhouettes of the main Guardians stand in front of a background of trees and space. It's a creative idea that includes all of the Guardians while still maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.

The planet they're on is reminiscent of where they first meet Ego in The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It's a forested world that sees the final instance of their togetherness before the end of the film.

7 Starlord

Starlord is the leader of the Guardians, at least according to himself. He's a part-human, part-Celestial man named Peter Quill. He's a confident, cocky leader who always jumps into action. He's not exactly one for plans.

Starlord calls himself a legendary outlaw. He's pretty much the only one to do so. Nevertheless, having him on your body is sure to inspire confidence.

6 Group Shot

This elaborate leg-sleeve shows some of our favorites together. Drax, Yondu, and Rocket get full headshots while Groot tags along on Rocket's shoulder. The Awesome Mix tape is even in there, too!

The background is space and honeycomb, much like the jump points between areas of the galaxy. These vibrant colors are sure to brighten a person's day.

5 Guardians Symbol

The Guardians have their own symbol, of course. They wouldn't be a true Marvel, or superhero, group without one. It's a reconfiguring of the Ravagers symbol but with a little more pizzazz.

This lovely version of it is placed in front of a colorful nebula with a hint of sparkle. Symbol tattoos are popular because they represent so much in such a little package. They save room on your body for more tattoos!

4 Nebula

Speaking of nebulas, this tattoo features the character Nebula as seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. She was a girl when Thanos started replacing her body parts with technology. She's now a very traumatized and angry cyborg.

Nebula gets her moment to shine in Avengers: Endgame. We think she shines bright enough on this person's skin. The colors of her blue and purple skin pop, while her black eyes shine with determination.

3 Yondu

Yondu Udonta became the hero of Guardians 2. Whereas before he was a heartless Ravager, his nature as a father figure to Peter Quill and as a hero was revealed in the second movie. He saved the day and saved Peter with iconic lines such as "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all".

Many individuals connected with Yondu's actions in the second movie. So many so that there are endless tattoos of his face and his iconic red arrow. This one is a minimalist representation of his fin and arrow that he fights with, but there are many other versions out there.

2 Gamora

This Gamora comes straight from the pages of a comic book. She was hard to find among all the movie-version Gamora tattoos out there. She's gorgeous in action, her green hair flying behind her, space swirling underneath her.

While the movie and comics versions of Gamora differ wildly in looks, their personality remains the same. They both are fearsome warriors, raised by Thanos, who both become heroes to the galaxy. It's no surprise people would want their faces on their bodies.

1 Groot

Finally, we get to Baby Groot, the most popular tattoo of the bunch. When big Groot sacrifices his life to save the Guardians in the first movie, Rocket plants a twig he found and regrows Groot. Groot grows at a rate you'd expect, making him a baby in the second movie.

Baby Groot captured hearts everywhere. His cuteness, his fierceness, his burning desire to be a part of the team despite being the size of a coffee cup, all drew eyes and ears toward him. He's the standout of the group, and the number of tattoos out there definitely reflects that.
