There was a lot of movie news coming out of Comic-Con International in San Diego 2012, so make sure to visit Spinoff Online for a number of different updates. Here are some of the highlights of the show for a number of films.

ANT MAN

The biggest tiny news from the Marvel Cinematic Universe was Edgar Wright's test footage of "Ant Man" shown at the CCI Marvel Studios panel.

"Ant Man will kick your ass one inch at a time," said Wright at the panel.

Rumors have further surfaced that "Ant Man" could begin filming as soon as 2013, which would be a definite plus for the film -- it's been in development since at least 2006.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

At the CCI 2012 Marvel Studios Panel, Kevin Feige confirmed Marvel Studios' next film is indeed "Guardians of the Galaxy" based on Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning's team of Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon.

"There will be many more announcements to come in the next few months about that," Feige said.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" had been rumored to be Marvel Studios' next big film for Phase Two since well before CCI, but the confirmation brought a great deal of new information, including this kick-ass concept art.

Opens August 1, 2014

THOR: THE DARK WORLD

The CCI Marvel Studios Panel also revealed that the "Thor" sequel is titled "Thor: The Dark World" and confirmed "Chuck" star Zachary Levi will join the cast as Fandral, replacing Josh Dallas.

Opens November 8, 2013

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Perhaps even more exciting is the reveal of the "Captain America: The First Avenger" sequel title, "The Winter Soldier." Although Feige didn't reveal much about the film's plot, he did give a shout out to the directors, the Russo brothers.

"We have a pair of directors on this called the Russo brothers who you may not know right now but next year when you're sitting here with the footage you will know them, and you'll become as big a fan as I am," said Feige.

Furthermore, "The Hurt Locker" star Anthony Mackie is in negotiations to play the Falcon in the sequel. Nothing's confirmed just yet, but Falcon would be a great choice as a foil for Chris Evans' Cap.

MAN OF STEELZack Snyder appeared at the "Man of Steel" Comic-Con Panel with some new footage to boot. CBR contributor Katie Calautti has an excellent description of the footage shown in her full panel report.

"In the teaser, which features the 'The Thin Red Line' score, the crowd was treated to naturalistic shots of young Clark Kent playing in a makeshift cape, running through tall grass, around a rickety swing and among a butterfly perched on a chain. Gorgeous point-of-view footage of a disturbing bus accident comes next, with a shot of Clark in the water and voiceover from a parent claiming her child 'was in the bus. He saw what Clark did.' We then see Clark as a young adult, curiously pulling the cover off what's presumably the rocket that delivered him to Earth as an infant. Kevin Costner's Jonathan Kent says, 'It's not from this world, Clark -- and neither are you.' As we hear Pa Kent tell Clark he must decide what kind of man he wants to grow up to be, we see flashbacks of Clark's infancy as Kal-El on Krypton, including sweeping panoramic shots of cavernous gray interiors and Russell Crowe's Jor-El embracing his distraught wife."

A new poster also debuted at CCI 2012, featuring Superman ensconced in shadow.

Opens June 13, 2013

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLESThe new TMNT animated series made a splash at CCI, with the full voice cast on hand and a preview of conceptual character designs, including April O'Neil.

Premieres on Nickelodeon in 2012

LOBOAmidst CCI madness, The Rock confirmed on Twitter that he is indeed in talks to play DC Comics' main man.

"Rumors of me possibly playing Lobo are true," Johnson tweeted. "Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.."

THE PUNISHER: DIRTY LAUNDRYNot an official film at all, but a "Punisher" fan film starring Thomas Jane and Ron Pearlman premiered during CCI and it is brutal. Check out the full treatment below.

WONDERLANDAccording to Spinoff Online, Zenescope's "Wonderland" comic series is set to get adapted for television by "Smallville" producer Brian Robbins.

"I was really drawn to the visuals; they're dark, intense and sexual in a really provocative way," Robbins told The Hollywood Reporter. "I love that it's a mother-daughter story; that's what really drew me to it. In the same way that ['Smallville's'] Clark [Tom Welling] had a similar relationship with his father, there's a parallel here. It's a really great retelling of the Wonderland story. There's an opportunity to take something that has really great pre-awareness and spin it like we did with 'Smallville.'"

CRIME IN GOTHAM CITYCracked.com has posted this incredible video of why you don't want a criminal from Gotham City on your crew. It's just fantastic.
