Actor Will Poulter is evidently bringing his best to the role of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Director James Gunn recently assured audiences that the star is "killing it" as the long-awaited character.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Gunn teased Poulter's performance, as well as the character's place as a superhuman being. "He's the best. He's killing it. People are going to really love Adam -- or love? They're going to appreciate Adam Warlock, I'll say." The director went on to explain how Warlock and the rest of the characters in the ensemble film will be explored in the upcoming film, stating, "He's great and Adam Warlock is great and I can't wait for people to see it. But it's a really rough shoot because it's dark and deep and goes into all the characters."

Gunn has been relatively open with audiences when it comes to the writing and filming process. The Guardians of the Galaxy director has shared numerous behind-the-scenes images teasing the progress of the long-awaited project. When filming began, Gunn shared an image of the cast, including Will Poulter, marking the start of principal photography after an extended period in development owing to a number of issues. "It's been a strange [and] long [and] at times challenging journey to get here," Gunn wrote, "But the obstacles along the way have only made this moment more blissful. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting."
