Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has begun drawing storyboards for the franchise's next installment -- and the world knows this because of a tweet regarding the shape of Rocket's face.

Fellow director and actor Alexander Vlahos tweeted Monday, "Kurt Russell calling Rocket a 'triangle faced monkey' is the single greatest line in cinema history and I will be taking no further questions at this time. Thank you @JamesGunn." In response, Gunn acknowledged he had begun storyboarding for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

"It actually made me laugh every time Kurt said it," Gunn tweeted back, "As did Rocket sadly touching his face afterwards, wondering if it really is shaped like a triangle. As I’m drawing storyboards right this moment for Vol. 3, a tedious task, it’s good to be reminded of these enjoyable moments."

In 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Peter Quill's father, played by Russell -- who also turned out to be the celestial entity known as Ego -- made the comment about Rocket before inviting the Guardians to his home planet. The planet was actually a disguised Ego himself.

The film is expected to start filming later this year. The movie was originally scheduled to start filming in 2019, but Gunn was removed from the project. He was reinstated, but not before writing and directing The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. That film is set for an Aug. 6 release.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Elizabeth Debicki. The film arrives in theaters May 5, 2023.
