With the exception of a deer peeing on Adam Sandler, the Grown Ups 2 trailer seems to be a step in a less cringe-worthy direction than the first Grown Ups. The sequel follows Sandler's character as he moves back to his hometown following the events of the 2010 film.

As is expected in a movie like this, that transition doesn't go especially smoothly. At least it teams him with his childhood best friends, played by Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade once again. The trailer also shows two new players in Grown Ups 2 team: Andy Samberg and Taylor Lautner.

Samberg has proved himself to be hilarious time and again -- this time he's a male cheerleader at a bikini carwash -- but it actually seems like there's a slim chance Lautner might also be funny as a frat boy who torments Sandler & Co. Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia also plays a fraternity member, so see if you can spot him in the trailer. Rounding out the cast of supporting actors are Steve Buscemi, Maria Bello, Aly Michalka, Alexander Ludwig and Maya Rudolph.

Dennis Duggin directed Grown Ups 2 off of a script by Sandler, Fred Wolf and Tim Herlihy. It's due in theaters on July 12. Here's the official synopsis:

The all-star comedy cast from Grown Ups returns (with some exciting new additions) for more summertime laughs. Lenny (Adam Sandler) has relocated his family back to the small town where he and his friends grew up. This time around, the grown-ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on a day notoriously full of surprises: the last day of school.
