Marvel has had quite a few different imprints over the years, so many that we've even forgotten about half of them. Yet we could never forget about one of Marvel's most successful imprints which were geared towards adult readers, the Marvel MAX line.

Marvel MAX allowed creators to tell mature stories with Marvel's favorite characters without worrying about continuity or the Comics Code, and Comixology is offering some amazing deals until the 25th on all Marvel MAX titles and collections in their digital library. So today we've selected a few of the best graphic novels and deals from Comixology's Marvel MAX sale!

PUNISHER AND FURY

A split image of Frank Castle from MARVEL MAX - Punisher and Fury

Garth Ennis' work with the Punisher is legendary, and any fan of Frank Castle's needs to add his MAX series to their collection. Not only does the MAX series allow both Ennis and the Punisher to be as graphically brutal as ever, but the series has allowed Ennis and crew to dive into exactly what makes Frank tick, and it isn't always pretty.

Ennis would later give the original Nick Fury the same MAX treatment and explore the character's darker spy days in the Marvel Universe with the Fury MAX series which is set after WWII and follows Fury as he deals with life after the war, before S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Unseen or even superheroes were a glimmer in his eye.

ALIAS AND DESTROYER

Brian Michael Bendis first introduced fans to the breakout character of Jessica Jones with the Marvel MAX title Alias, which created a retroactive continuity for Jones in the Marvel Universe. This allowed Bendis to explore the life of a former Marvel hero without Marvel's usual restrictions, and Jessica Jones proved to be so popular she soon migrated to the regular comic universe.

Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, the dynamic creative team from Image Comics' hit Invincible, reteamed for a look at one of Marvel's classic pulp heroes the Destroyer. However, the Marvel MAX title follows the aged character in his final days as he decides to put on his gear and take out his greatest enemies before it's too late.

WOLVERINE AND DEADPOOL

If there were ever two characters in the Marvel universe who deserved an adult title more than the Punisher, it's Wolverine and Deadpool. Wolverine MAX followed the brutal X-Avenger as he moves in and out of Berserker rages across the world, leaving blood and mayhem in his wake.

Wade Wilson's MAX adventures may feature a lot of mayhem and violence from the Merc-with-a-Mouth, but it also features the story of 'Pool's assistant/sidekick Bob and the extreme measures he takes to keep Deadpool focused on his various missions, and the series also explores just what kind of person you have to be to work with Deadpool anyway.
