Grendel, X-Men 3, Wonder Woman, Smallville: December 29th Comic Reel Wrap

GRENDEL

In a chat right here at CBR, creator Matt Wagner dropped a scoop about taking his characters to the next level. “It let’s me announce that we’ve just finalized a Grendel movie deal with Warner Brothers,” he said to a question posed by a fan. “I’ve been down this road before, but feel pretty good about it this time …” When asked which Grendel will grace the screen, he said, “Christine. Not only is she the most sympathetic version but, since Hunter’s presence runs so strongly throughout her tale, we get to introduce Grendel as both a character and a concept all in the same film. And, hey, vengeance driven action chick in a black leather outfit and mask … what’s not to love, right?”

X-MEN 3

Comics Continuum noted “that Arclight will be in the film as a member of the Brotherhood. In the comics, Arclight was a member of the Marauders. It’s a very small part.” They also note that “Spectral Motion built the Juggernaut suit that Vinnie Jones wore.”

WONDER WOMAN

There’s a rumor in the mailbag answers at Moviehole that “a little birdie told me recently that Warner are so over the moon with newcomer Brandon Routh in ‘Superman Returns’ that they’re keen to get a fresh face to fly the Invisible Jet too.”

SMALLVILLE

Kryptonsite has the official network description for the January 19th episode “Lockdown.”

KWANZAA DAY FOUR: UJAMAA

Here’s where you get in on the action. Did you see a link we didn’t catch? Have you snuck into a closed movie set, and have inside data? Maybe your cousin is dating somebody who knows something, and they had to tell you? Whatever it is, we wanna know it all — fire off an email and let us know whether you want your name used or your contributions to geekdom to go down anonymously. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is novelist/reviewer/karaoke host/all-around lunatic Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and [tagline sent back to development hell until something hipper can be dreamed up].
