This Spring, DC Comics reunites two of its heaviest hitters on one title. Batman and Superman return to an ongoing monthly title with "Batman/Superman" written by Greg Pak with art by Jae Lee. The series will focus on telling the definitive story of how the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight first crossed paths in the New 52 DC Universe.

Although the title is slightly different, "Batman/Superman" follows in the footsteps of pre-"Flashpoint" ongoing series "Superman/Batman," which explored the relationship between Batman and Superman, often incorporating other parts of the DC Universe. The series launched in 2003 and lasted 87 issues, featuring the work of a number of creators, including Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Michael Turner, Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, Mike Johnson and Michael Green, Rags Morlaes, Shane Davis, James Robinson and more. "Superman/Batman" also introduced Kara Zor-El, the then-new version of Supergirl, to the DC Universe.

"We've been given the incredible opportunity to show these two icons meeting for the first time at this very early and raw stage in their careers," Pak told USA Today. "Neither one of them has ever heard of the other guy."

"There's an element of danger to the book that I think is very real and very exciting."

"Batman/Superman" is an ongoing series, thought it's unknown how long the story of the first meeting between the two banner DC heroes will last and what other territory it might subsequently explore. While Jae Lee most recently provided art for DC's "Before Watchmen: Ozymandias," "Batman/Superman" will be writer Greg Pak's first title for the publisher, having contributed primarily to Marvel Comics during his career including creating major additions to the Hulk mythology.
