Green Lantern, Wanted 2, Astro Boy: August 26th Comic Reel

Australian website Inside Film (via Production Weekly’s twitter feed) reports recent gains in the Australian dollar puts the production in jeopardy. “While most offshore productions lock in finance when a project is green-lit, it is understood that ongoing work on the Green Lantern script delayed that move. Pre-production on the film was originally scheduled for July and filming for November,” states the article. This could mean the film will have to shift its release date if the production is forced to relocate and any number of crew changes.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011?

If you recall the wax baths in the first film, it probably comes as no surprise they will be employed to revive Angelina Jolie’s character Fox for the sequel. While movie making on this scale requires a bankable lead like Jolie to return, it is difficult to find a story point that works. Director Timur Bekmambetov tells MTV News the mechanism to bring back is easy, “But there has to be a reason for her to come back … and we know the reason.” The director says he expects to be shooting by winter.

Release date: TBA

Latino Review has the international poster for the film (in Asian markets, the film will go by its Japanese title, “Atom”). Meanwhile, Cinematical has the final U.S. release poster.

Directed by David Bowers, release date: October 23rd, 2009

According to Ain’t It Cool News, director Christopher Nolan may shoot the third film completely in the IMAX format. If you saw “the Dark Knight” in that larger film format, you know the chase scene in the middle of the film is quite impressive for the extra detail IMAX allows. An entire Batman film in the larger format would be an impressive step forward for both IMAX and Nolan.

Release date: TBA

HEROES reports the eighth episode of the new season will be titled “Once Upon a Time in Texas.”

New episodes begin: September 21st, 2009

Today’s set pics from the blog of director Edgar Wright reveal Hyperspace? Also, another awesome crew shirt.

Starring Michael Cera and Chris Evans, release date: 2010
