Green Lantern, Venom, Sin City 2: Dec 21st Comic Reel

According to Latino Review, five actresses are in the running to play the part of Carol Ferris. The list includes Eva Green from "Casino Royale" and Keri Russel from "Mission: Impossible III" and "Felicity." Since I've only mentioning two of the five, you can probably guess where my preferences lay. Okay, the others are Diane Kruger from "Troy" and "Inglorious Basterds," Blake Lively from "Gossip Girl," and Jennifer Garner. Despite the holiday week, I imagine this will be decided very soon. Back when Ryan Reynolds was cast, we heard of a short list of actors and then suddenly Reynolds had the part.

Directed by Martin Campbell, release date: June 17th, 2011

Movieweb pinned down Topher Grace on his connection with the film. After getting the usual non-committal answers from the actor, Movieweb writes, "So just to be clear, at this time you don't plan on appearing in the film, we followed up by asking. 'No, I don't think so,' answered Grace." Though it has been previously reported that the spin-off film would most likely feature a new character or a recast Eddie Brock, the news isn't so surprising.

Latino Review caught up with director Robert Rodriguez. While also talking about "Machete," the director offered a status update on the Sin City sequel, which at one time was set to use "A Dame to Kill For" as one of its storylines. "I can't say no because I don't know its no. I know Frank (Millier) wants to do it I know I wanna do it and its always sort of time permitting kind of thing but it's not like I can tell you definitely we're starting ... it's not my next picture I know that. Doesn't mean that it's not the picture right after because that's still a possibility," says Rodriguez. He also mentioned a script has been in existence since 2007, but both he and Miller would have to take another look at it before moving forward on the production.

Release date: TBA

Guy Ritchie tells MTV News "Lobo" may not be a sure thing with him in the director's chair. Despite the apparentness that he is, in fact, directing the film, Ritchie says it is not a matter of fact:

The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex blog caught up with Perseus Sam Worthington. He told them he was headed back for reshoots on the remake. While he mentioned the studio is loosening the purse strings to add some value to the movie, he does admit there are some weak spots the reshoots will allow them to correct. "There were some creaky parts but they are the parts that we knew were creaky and that we knew were going to be creaky going into it. The studio is also letting us add some gods and scenes. And they're talking about making the movie a 3D film," says Worthington. I don't know if I need a Kraken in 3D, but throwing more money at this movie couldn't hurt.

Starring Sam Worthington, release date: March 26th, 2010

Superhero Hype spotted a couple of clips from the pilot on NCM.com which revolve around the iPhone of guest star Tricia Helfer and ice cubes.

Premieres: January 17th, 2010

Cue the Burl Ives and get me some egg nog, it's Holiday Week! I expected the news flow to be light because of it, but you never really know what will break even a couple of days before Christmas. Like Halloween, I'll mention a couple of movies I watch at this time of year -- both good and bad -- starting tomorrow. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of Christmas lights.
