The Green Lantern TV show on HBO Max has set a date for when it will kick off principal photography.

According to Production List, Green Lantern will begin filming on April 12, 2021 in Los Angeles. This aligns with prior reports that indicated the program was aiming for a Spring 2021 start date in California.

No official plot details have been revealed for the Green Lantern program, however, some aspects of the show have been revealed, such as the fact that Seth Grahame-Smith will serve as showrunner. Former HBO Max Content Chief Kevin Reilly also promised the program will feature polished visuals. "These will be next step up in production value," Reilly said about HBO Max shows like Green Lantern. "You can expect the highest level of cinematic production values on those shows, and that's the same for the projects we've announced with J.J. [Abrams]."

Meanwhile, reports have revealed that Green Lantern will feature a slew of Green Lanter Corps members in lead roles, including Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz, as well as a newly-created character named Bree Jarta.

Executive produced by Geoff Johns and written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim, HBO Max's Green Lantern series has yet to receive a premiere date.
