Having the right tools for any job is just as important as having the skills to complete it. Artists have their pencils and paint brushes. Carpenters have their tool belt. Photographers have their cameras. And Green Lanterns have their power rings.

Being a swiss army knife of sorts, the ring can be anything that the bearer imagines, so long as they have the ability to “will” it into existence. Because of this, the Green Lanterns rely wholly on their creativity just as much as they do their will power while using it. Creativity lends itself to creating all types of constructs that save their own and fellow Justice League members’ lives. But they also have made for fun scenarios throughout the comics.

10 Kyle Rayner’s Mech Constructs

Kyle is easily the most creative of Earth’s Green Lanterns. Being an artist, he has an extremely vast imagination, but also has been exposed to many aspects of Earth culture that the other Lanterns may not have had access to.

Kyle’s love for Japanese manga is extremely apparent when he makes several mech constructs. A recent construct that might be most familiar to manga fans is the Evangelion inspired mech that he put together in Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps #48

9 Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern Army

When he was faced against the new enemy, Larfleeze, Hal Jordan had to represent the full force of the Green Lantern Corps. To do so, he chose to make a construct of all the major Lanterns of the corps.

This was extremely upsetting to Larfleeze. Being hooked on avarice, he not only wanted everything for himself, but he also believed that he was the originator and only one capable of doing all of the things pertaining to the power of the rings. It was with this construct that he learned otherwise. The battle itself is extremely colorful with Hal briefly having access to the Orange Lantern. In the end, he stays true to his green roots.

8 Lobo’s Giant… Appendage

Of everyone to get a ring, Lobo is someone fans would least expect to be given access to that type of power. Already a powerhouse of a being, the Green Lantern Corps was desperate for more people. The main man ends up coming to their rescue.

Being the crude alien that he is, he entered the battlefield giving Dex-Starr a taste of his galactic boot. He then attacked Atrocious with a construct that is better left not spoken about in detail. Atrocious was offended and Guy had an extremely good laugh at the situation, exclaiming that Lobo needed to travel around with Green Lantern censor on hand.

7 All The Various Armor Constructs

Each of the Green Lanterns have jumped into battle, often requiring some type of armor to protect themselves as they charge in. Each one has created a unique version based on the situation and their battle strategy. Some have had gun mounts attached. Others are completely fantastical and appeal more to a specific aesthetic while providing protection. There is no single best armor when drawing comparisons, but there are definitely a plethora of interesting designs that are worth taking a look at.

6 Kyle Rayner’s Green Machine

Any car enthusiast would be immediately excited at the possibility of creating the car of their dreams. Kyle’s car happens to be the Green Machine – a classic green take on the Cadillac that he can take on his adventures through space.

It very obvious that he needed the R&R, and there is no better way to relax than to cruise through the galaxy in a pimped out ride while playing a little G-funk: the only acceptable genre of music to play while riding a classic (and no, the ‘G’ doesn’t stand for green).

5 John Stewart's Over The Top Guns

Being a military man as well as an architect, John has put together some of the most fascinating guns ever wielded by a Green Lantern. With his attention to detail and understanding of complex mechanisms, he has always made constructs that appear like he’s holding a blueprint in front of him.

Being so connected to his military roots, it comes as no surprise that he is constantly looking towards his experience as a marine for inspiration. With exposure to more of the universe, he is even more capable of emulating or creating entirely new guns at a moments notice.

4 Kyle Rayner’s Horses and Chariot

Kyle comes back again flexing his artistic, and definitely romantic, muscles. The inspiration is drawn from being in the presence of his love interest at the time, Donna Troy. Given her background, she's very keen on seeing ancient Greek stylized technology that would remind her of home.

If there is anything that is consistent about Kyle, it is the fact that he really knows how to travel in style. He definitely did not hold back when treating his special lady to a night out in the city.

3 Kyle Rayner’s Pirate Ship

Continuing with the theme of transportation, Kyle Rayner had an opportunity to transport his super friends across the void of space. Tapping into his artistic mind, he ended up making a construct of a giant pirate ship.

The Flash, usually the one to be making jokes, seemed to take the experience very seriously. One might even say he was a bit nervous about the whole experience. It's more than likely that his apprehensions came from the mere fact of being in space on something that doesn't naturally float through the void.

2 Hal Jordan’s Emerald Coast City

While mourning the loss of his home town, Hal revisits his memories. In doing this, he prompts the ring to reconstruct the entirety of Coast City, down to the last detail. He even includes people he spent time while growing up.

Having so much attention to detail, this is one of the bigger constructs to have been made by any of the Green Lanterns. It very quickly drained his ring of power which lead to a scolding from one of the Guardians. Unfortunately, this pushes him over the edge, and he immediately heads to Oa to demolish the corps.

1 Alan Scott’s Floating City

In the first issue of Kingdom Come, Spectre goes over the activities of all of DC’s main heroes. One of the heroes, a Green Lantern, has an entire emerald city constructed and keeps watch over the Earth from space. In the city, a medieval armored Alan Scott sits waiting for something evil to happen that he can respond to.

It isn’t specifically stated that the entire city is a construct. The reality of this is pretty unlikely since he would need to find a way to keep it consistently powered even while he is away on missions. However, he definitely would have needed a lot of will power and creativity to be able to put it together.
