Though Arrow has ended, fans have been eagerly awaiting its spinoff Green Arrow and the Canaries. The show, set twenty years in the future, follows Oliver Queen's daughter Mia (Katherine McNamara) as she takes up his mantle and fights alongside Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) and Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy).

The show has yet to be picked up to series, and with the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic shutting down film and television production, its future is hazy. During an interview with CBR, Cassidy had a simple answer when asked if the show had been picked up: "No!"

"No, not that we know of." McNamara agreed. "I mean, the world is so topsy-turvy right now. I don't think we're going to know anything for a while."

McNamara did point out that fans could purchase the complete eight season of Arrow on DVD and Blu-ray. The penultimate episode of the series acted as the backdoor pilot for Green Arrow and the Canaries; former Arrow showrunners Beth Schwartz and Marc Guggenheim helped develop the concept.
