In Arrow's second to last episode, "Green Arrow and the Canaries," fans learned that Dinah Drake --aka the second Black Canary-- was now both the owner of and a singer at a bar called The Fish Net in the Star City of 2040. While the planned spinoff that episode was setting up still has yet to be officially ordered to series by The CW, Dinah's actor Juliana Harkavy has stated that the series will explore the more musical aspect of her character's personality.

While speaking to Comicbook.com, Harkavy admitted that she had not seen the recent Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) film, which also featured a version of Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and saw her own musical side.

"I did not watch the Birds of Prey movie," Harkavy stated. "I've seen many clips online, and I looked up Jurnee and I looked up, you know, her music. And I actually am really excited to see the film. But I was more, the reason I'd always wanted to do the music was because it was a part of the comic book character."

"So, I think it's cool that it was a part of the movie," Harkavy added. "And now it's going to be part of the new show. I think it's an integral part of the Black Canary. And it's also like the quite literal thing because just so you know, she's a canary who sings. So, I think that's pretty cool."

Arrow: The Eighth & Final Season is now available on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD.
