Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch has signed a mult-year deal with Netflix to develop new series and features for the streaming service's adult animated slate.

Hirsch's credits include voice work on Rick and Morty and Star vs. the Forces of Evil, but he's best known as the creator of the acclaimed animated series Gravity Falls, which aired for two seasons from 2012 to 2016. Hirsch also voiced such beloved characters as wily Grunkle Stan, lovable handyman Soos, insane hillbilly Fiddleford McGucket,and even the unimaginably evil triangle Bill Cipher.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing roster of talent coming to Netflix," Hirsch said in a statement. "Plus it couldn’t hurt to be on The Algorithm’s good side before The Singularity hits. Awesome things are coming!”

Hirsch, who co-authored Gravity Falls: Journal 3 and wrote the Gravity Falls: Lost Legends graphic novel, is also a co-writer of the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Detective Pikachu movies. Gravity Falls, which follows the exploits of twins Dipper and Mabel Pines as they unravel mysteries in the titular town, earned multiple Emmy and Annie awards during its two-season run.
