Grant Morrison’s Brave New World has found itself a home on NBC’s new digital streaming service, Peacock. NBCU confirmed it secured the big-budget dystopian drama, which was originally ordered by USA.
Brave New World will be based on the 1932 novel written by Aldous Huxley. It portrays a "utopian" society that has managed to achieve peace and societal stability through strict control of almost every aspect of civilization and its inhabitants. Humans are genetically bred and pharmaceutically anesthetized to passively serve the higher, ruling order, controlled through the encouragement of a hedonistic lifestyle centered around a happiness drug called Soma.
The show will be Executive Produced by Grant Morrison, David Wiener, Owen Harris, Brian Taylor, and Daryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television. David Wiener also serves as writer and showrunner of the series. At the time of writing, there is no indication as to when the show will be available to watch via Peacock.
Brave New World stars Alden Ehrenreich, Jessica Brown Findlay, Harry Lloyd, Kylie Bunbury, Hannah John-Kamen, Sen Mitsuji, Joseph Morgan, Nina Sosanya and Demi Moore.
Peacock will launch in April 2020. While the price is unknown, the service will offer ad-based and subscription options. The service will also be the home of a new Battlestar Galactica reboot from Mr. Robot executive producer Sam Esmail.
