A couple of weeks shy of The Flash's Season 7 debut on The CW, lead actor Grant Gustin posted a photo on social media, showing off his physique for the show's upcoming season.
In response to Gustin's post, costume concept designer Greg Hopwood shared a paint-over design of the photo, creating a new look for The Flash and sharing it on Instagram.
"I’ve always wanted to get the chance to work on a flash suit, and was super inspired by @grantgust most recent post to do a quick paint over," Hopwood captioned the photo of his take on Gustin's Flash costume on Instagram. "Dude we love you no matter what size or shape you are as long as you’re healthy," The Boys costume concept designer added. "It just goes to show that even superheroes struggle with their weight and mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Can’t wait for the next season of @cwtheflash !! Keep up the great work, man.
Season 7 of The Flash will pick up where Season 6 ended, seeing Barry Allen utilizing Team Flash to create an artificial speed-force in hopes to save his super-speed and his wife, Iris West-Allen, from the mirrorverse. Also, The Flash's speed will need to be redeemed in order to face-off against the Mirror Mistress, Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor).
Showrunner Eric Wallace previously shared that the first episode in the newest season is particularly Iris-focused. "It's really cool and there's a twist, and it's a big Iris story with a lot of surprises," Wallace stated. He also mentioned that Season 7's premiere episode is "an incredibly emotional one, like tears."

When an experiment to save Barry’s (Grant Gustin) speed backfires, Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh) searches for a way to save The Flash and comes up with a dangerous plan. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) makes a startling realization inside the Mirrorverse and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) faces off with Rosa Dillon (guest star Ashley Rickards).
