A new leak composed of dozens of videos has surfaced showing what appears to be in-development footage of Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.

The user going by "Teapotuberhacker" posted a zip file to GTAForums, writing, "Here are 90 footage/clips from GTA 6. Its possible i could leak more data soon, GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets, GTA 6 testing build." Since then, the footage has been compiled and shared across social media and other forums all over the Internet. Rockstar has not yet responded to the leak, nor has the company confirmed the authenticity of the videos.

Various clips show a variety of game features, including gunplay, robberies and fully-voiced conversations between characters as well as debug elements. If genuine, they would confirm several rumors about the game, including those suggesting the presence of a female protagonist, as well as the game's setting being in Vice City.

Teapotuberhacker claims the videos were downloaded directly from Rockstar's internal Slack groups, but this has not been confirmed. The post has sparked serious debate within the GTA community. Some users are not convinced and are asking for more evidence while stating that it is nothing but a modded version of GTA V. Others are certain that the voiced dialogue and visible debug elements are proof enough that it is the real deal.

Grand Theft Auto's Legacy

Grand Theft Auto is a long-running series of action-adventure video games published by Rockstar Games. Each game centers around the player completing missions and side quests to progress the main story while traversing an open world. Most of the gameplay revolves around driving and shooting, with occasional role-playing and stealth elements. GTA 5 was first released in 2013 for a variety of home consoles as well as Windows.

The newest entry to the Grand Theft Auto series, GTA VI, was finally confirmed on Feb. 4, 2022 after years of rumors and speculation, but it has been said that Rockstar will only be releasing more official news when it is ready. The company has also apparently moved over more developers to the upcoming title after recently scrapping remasters of Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV.

At the time of writing, no release date or further information has been announced.
