Benedict Samuel's Mad Hatter in on the march in the latest promo for "Red Queen," the next episode of "Gotham." Flanked by his formidable henchmen Dumfree and Deever Tweed, the Hatter clearly means business, proclaiming that "tonight, the heads of Gotham will roll."

Hatter's first order of business is giving Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) a very bad trip, courtesy of some crimson hallucinogenic powder. It doesn't look like he will be in much shape to interfere with the Hatter's mad schemes in next week's episode.

That's bad for Mayor Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), as the Penguin finds himself on the wrong end of the Hatter's gun -- and the consequence of losing is death. But while we know the stakes, the promo doesn't reveal what kind of wager the Hatter appears to be proposing. Elsewhere, we get a brief glimpse of David Mazouz, but it's unclear if he is young Master Bruce or his mysterious doppelganger.

According to the episode's official description,

After coming in contact with a substance by the hand of Mad Hatter, Jim Gordon gets led on a psychedelic trip and must confront his past, present and future. Meanwhile, Penguin struggles with Nygma’s new relationship in the all-new “Mad City: Red Queen” episode of "Gotham"
