As Gotham continues with its fifth and final season, fans are seeing Cameron Monaghan’s character, Jeremiah Valeska, become ever more Joker-like.Apparently, his portrayal of the character has earned the approval of writer Paul Dini. The actor shared a video on his Instagram story that shows him flipping through a signed copy of Dini’s Harley Loves Joker. The inscription reads, “For Cameron – A terrific Joker! Best, Paul Dini.”

The video ends with Monaghan flashing the camera a thumbs up, and the caption under the video reads, “Thanks to #PaulDini for the gift!”

Many Gotham fans are eagerly awaiting the series finale, in which a jump forward in time will reportedly give viewers a look at Valeska, as well as David Mazouz’s Bruce Wayne, in their fully realized Joker and Batman forms.

“All I’ll say is when you have an episode that’s a full-on Batman episode running around in the future…" Monaghan said. "I don’t want to say exactly what my role in that is, but it was kick ass. It’s one of the coolest opportunities I’ve ever had."
