Gotham's Most Popular Villain Is Returning This Season

Actor Cameron Monaghan teased the return of Gotham's most popular villain in a new post on Instagram.

His post shows a chair on the set of Gotham that says the name Jerome on it. This, of course, is a reference to Monaghan's character Jerome Valeska on the show, which is now airing its fourth season.

Jerome was initially introduced during the first season in the episode "The Blind Fortune Teller." He then went on to become one of the series' main villains in Season 2 before his untimely death. He was then brought back to life in Season 3, and again played one of the show's main villains.

On more than one occasion, Monaghan's character has been teased to be some early form of the more recognizable Batman villain The Joker. In Season 3, he even had his face removed and reattached, like what happened to his comic book counterpart a few years ago in the DC comics.

Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cameron Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
