As Gotham's fifth and final season continues, new official stills from the season's upcoming fifth episode have been released, showing the arrival of one new villain and the return of an old one.

Titled "Pena Dura," the photos reveal Shane West's Eduardo Dorrance leading a military task force into the city to provide relief after Gotham was declared a no man's land. The episode also features the return of B.D. Wong's Doctor Hugo Strange, who appears to conduct experiments on a hapless Edward Nygma.

"Pena Dura" may be familiar to comic book fans as the fictional Latin American country where Bane was born and raised under harsh conditions. Given Shane West's seemingly normal appearance and potential partnership with Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock, the DC Comics character may initially arrive in Gotham as an ally before taking his own villainous turn.

Previous behind-the-scenes photos of West on set revealed the character enduring a traumatic transformation, so this alliance to the save the city will likely not last.
