When Gotham returns for its final season in 2019, the citizens of the titular city are going to be in for a rather rough time indeed.

"The Innocent & The Wicked," a new Gotham sizzle reel, has been released online, featuring a quick crash course on the events that have led the series to this explosive final chapter, including the city's crime war, the trials of young Bruce Wayne, the rise of Jeremiah and the subsequent destruction and devastation that has befallen Gotham.

The reel also provides some brand-new footage of what viewers can expect from Season 5. Specifically, concrete barricades covered with barbed wire, warring factions, bizarre-looking gear and all-out firefights. In other words, the city of Gotham probably wouldn't look out of place in a Mad Max movie or a Fallout video game.

Gotham doesn't exactly have a reputation for being one of the safest cities out there, but suffice to say that the series' upcoming "No Man's Land" storyline looks like it will more than live up to its namesake.

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth. It is scheduled to return on Fox for its fifth and final season in 2019.
