Bruce Wayne moves closer to his transformation into the Dark Knight in new promotional art Gotham Season 4 that teases his first vigilante costume.
The two advertising banners, which trumpet the Sept. 21 season premiere, are accompanied by a new tagline: "A Dark Knight, seemingly signifying the beginning of the transformation of teenage Bruce into the crime-fighter he'll eventually become. That's of course a significant departure from Batman's comic book origins, but considering Gotham has played loose with cannon -- particularly with the Dark Knight's rogues -- that shouldn't be too surprising.
The first promo depicts Ben McKenzie's James Gordon standing with David Mazouz's Bruce Wayne, whose coat flutters cape-like in the breeze, and breaks off into flying bats. The second ad shows a closeup of Bruce wearing a very Batman-esque cowl, suggesting he may don some version of the mask in the upcoming season.
Returning Thursday, Sept. 21, on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cameron Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
