The digital effects team for Gotham, CoSA VFX, has released a reel breaking down its extensive work within the city of Gotham. Watch below and be astounded by the staggering amount of work that went into designing the show's aesthetic.

Gotham's aesthetic has always been more comic book noir/camp than gritty realism. This Season 3 reel reveals that's quite literally by design -- everything from Mr. Freeze's icy weaponry, to even elements as basic as crowds and buildings, are completely digitalized and inserted into the scenes. It gives a new appreciation for Gotham's cast, who have apparently been working with green screens more than we could have ever imagined these past three seasons.

If CoSA VFX's brand of digitized super powers looks familiar, that's because the company has also worked on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. .
