Fox's Gotham has a fairly long history of bringing its characters closer to their comic book counterparts as the series has gone on. Take, for instance, Edward Nygma finally getting his green Ridder duds, the Valeksa twins' rise as the proto-Jokers and young Bruce Wayne slowly but surely building to the classic batsuit fans know and love.RELATED: Gotham Producers Know They Face ‘A Lot of Pressure’ to Get Batsuit RightWith that in mind, Gotham star Robin Lord Taylor, who plays Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, decided to tease audiences with the fact that his character will also be getting a comics-accurate addition to his look when the series returns for its fifth and final season.Taylor shared a picture to his Instagram, featuring a lone black top hat sitting on a cast chair labeled "Penguin." The original post has seemingly since been removed, but has been mirrored elsewhere.

DC fans are likely well aware of the fact that the Penguin's top hat is a small but undeniably essential and iconic aspect of the character's look. In turn, seeing Oswald don the elegant accessory in live-action for the first time since 1992's Batman Returns is sure to be a huge moment for fans of the bird-themed baddie.
