Gotham Recasts Poison Ivy, Teases More Comics-Faithful Version

Gotham will continue the evolution of Ivy Pepper, better known as Poison Ivy, in Season 4, a change that will be highlighted by the latest recasting of the character.

Peyton List (Frequency, The Flash, Mad Men) will be the third actor to take on the role of Batman's iconic plant-controlling villain when she joins the series in 2018.

“In the continuing evolution of Poison Ivy's origin story, Ivy Pepper has been transformed once again taking another step toward becoming the Ivy we know from the comics," Gotham's producers said in a statement. "Dangerous. A live wire of crazy energy. She'll set her sights on Gotham, intent on making the city her own green paradise.”

The role of Ivy was originated in Gotham's first season by Clare Foley. Maggie Geha replaced her in the part when the character was aged from pre-teen girl to a twenty-something woman by Mark, an Indian Hill refugee who had the ability to artificially age people he touched.

Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cameron Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
