The midseason return of Fox's Gotham was announced today with a new promo. The series that recounts the years leading up to Bruce Wayne’s emergence as Gotham's ever-vigilant protector Batman will return to the network on Thursday, March 1.

The promo teases several big developments for the show’s Season 4 return, like the introduction of the Joker. The Joker’s introduction has been something of a hot topic for fans of the series, as it was recently revealed that the classic Batman villain won’t be Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan). David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne on the show, let slip earlier this month that Jerome wouldn’t be the Joker, but that he would serve as the inspiration for the character, who will be introduced soon.

The promo also shows off Poison Ivy’s new casting. This will be the third actor to play the Poison Ivy role on Gotham. Peyton List will take over for Maggie Geha, who has played the character since Season 3. Clare Foley played the role prior to that.

Returning to Fox from its midseason hiatus on March 1, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cameron Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
