When Fox's Gotham returns from winter hiatus, it appears as if it will go full-on Joker.

Thursday's midseason finale, "Queen Takes Knight," teased not only the return of Jerome Valeska, but also a possible union with the Penguin. The new midseason promo depicts what these two villains will be up to when the drama returns.

Oswald Cobblepot was defeated in this week's episode and locked up in Arkham Asylum, with only his anger to latch onto. That is, until a familiar laugh comes with a promise of help. Although Jerome was introduced on the series as a proto-Joker, it seems has if any pretense has been discarded.

In the promo, we not only see that Jerome has the permanent smile of facial scars, just like Heath Ledger's Joker, we also catch a glimpse of a signature playing card. For all intents and purposes, Jerome is now Gotham's full-fledged Joker.

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cameron Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
