The first full trailer for Gotham Knights, The CW's latest DC superhero series, has arrived.

The trailer begins with Oscar Morgan's Turner Hayes, the adopted son of Bruce Wayne/Batman, throwing a party at Wayne Manor. Misha Collins' Harvey Dent interrupts the gathering to inform Hayes that his father has been murdered. The Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) brings in several suspects for questioning, including the Joker's daughter and Hayes, the latter being accused of murdering his adopted father for the inheritance he would receive upon Wayne's death. The trailer concludes with Hayes and the rest of the suspects being freed from a GCPD armored van by Carrie Kelley/Robin with the young adults deciding to work together to solve Batman's murder and clear their names.

Gotham Knights was ordered to series in May 2022 after being in development since December 2021. Alongside the prequels Walker: Independence and The Winchesters, Gotham Knights was only one of three pilots The CW ordered to series for its 2022-23 TV schedule. The series will follow Turner Hayes and the children of Batman's enemies after they are framed for killing the Caped Crusader and declared Gotham's most wanted criminals. The team of mismatched fugitives must fight to clear their names while stepping up as Gotham's next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.

The series hails from writers Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux and Chad Fiveash, who also executive produce with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden. Despite the shared premise of Batman being dead, The CW's Gotham Knights is not connected to the upcoming video game of the same name from WB Games Montréal and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game follows Nightwing, Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Tim Drake/Robin and Jason Todd/Red Hood on a mission to avenge Bruce Wayne's death by bringing order back to Gotham City.

In addition to Collins's Harvey Dent and Navia Ziraili Robinson's Carrie Kelley, Gotham Knights will include other comic book characters from DC Comics. Anna Lore will play Spoiler, the daughter of Cluemaster, who is considered a long-serving member of the Bat-Family in the comics. Olivia Rose Keegan has been cast as Joker's Daughter, who has also claimed to be the child of Harvey Dent in certain Batman stories.

The series will also feature siblings Cullen and Harper Row, the latter of which becomes the vigilante Bluebird in the comics. Tyler DiChiara and Fallon Smythe have been cast as Cullen and Harper, respectively. It is unknown if Harper Row is already operating as Bluebird in Gotham Knights at this time.

Gotham Knights is scheduled for a mid-season premiere on The CW.
